What A Long Long "Holiday"

I AM BACK! Yes! I AM! Words cannot describe the feelings that were going through me when we hit back Singapore. Just imagine how I felt. The sense of relief and happiness. Undescribable. But what I can say is that I was SOOOOOOOOOO envious of the people that went to Perak for the society leadership trip. If it wasn't for India, I really could have gone. Melvin Tan even booked a place for me already darn it. Oh well, glad that the people enjoyed it. (*curses*) Haha!

Anyway, let me explain the India trip like how I did in a certain debrief in India. All those who were there heard this.

"It's like being served great food with really terrible service. Then made to eat the food with total anger and unhappiness."

Let me explain it simply. Fascinating place. Terrible planning. And I like totally said this directly at the "Black Ball's" face. He wanted personal views so that's what I gave. He still could act blur about it. Dumb prick. Ha! Aight aight.

So since we are not allowed to disclosed the photos and videos yet, I'm going to just some random thoughts on the trips. I'll get to the photos later. =)

Warning: A lot of inside jokes some will not understand.

Mt. Kinabalu

- Best scenery I have ever seen!

- Budget Airlines really suck

- Drivers there drive like they are in Initial D. And that was on the mountain range road!

- AirAsia stewardesses look like men!

- Kinabalu Airport was probably the smallest airport I have ever seen.

- I love the Nikon D70!

- Why can't they get water heaters that actually work?!

- Andrew really snores like a wild boar. Getting old dude!

- Andre actually doubles up as a walking stick part-time.

- Andrew's camera strangely has a lot of photos of 1 particular person. Hmmmm...

- Get more training done before ever doing stuff like this!

- Surprised I didn't get altitude sickness.

- We were f***ing lucky! For 2 reasons. 1st: The whole time we were there, it rained almost everyday except the day we climbed up to the peak! 2nd: The plane crash for an AirAsia flight at Kota Kinabalu happened about 2 days after we left. Phew!

- The guides are badass climbers. Sick dudes!

- Jason! Where are the scandalous photos of those 2?! Oooooo...

- Andrew must have really loved sharing the room with 4 girls. B***ard! Ha!

- One of the best and cheapest seafood dinners I have ever EVER had!

- Talking to a half-dead lobster which was still moving while eating it was interesting; and delicious.

- People actually brought McDonald's up the mountain. Mad.

- Someone actually "bombed" one of the shelters before we came. Actually looked "fresh". Must have been really urgent for him to do it so publicly.

- Playing yoyo on the mountain! Wohoo! Another achievement for DCS!

- You will never want to experience bathing in freezing cold water in under 10 degree temperature. Cause I did.

- Mountain food is WAYYY too expensive.

- My Timberland shoes were one really good investment. Ha!

- Andrew was as happy as a little schoolboy when he saw someone in the pool!

- I have never seen bigger lobsters in my life.

- Speedboats rides are way cool.

- NIKE! ADIDAS! BRITISH INDIA! Too bad I was dumb enough not to get any.

- Berjaya Palace Hotel. Ok place, Terrible food and service.

- Everyone sells the same thing in the handicraft market. Dumb.

- KFC! KFC! KFC! 3 days in a row! Nothing beats Malaysia KFC.

- To sum it up; Hell yea I am going to do this again.

India SIF/YEP Expedition

- 22 days in India is way TOO long!

- The kids we met in the home were a great bunch!

- No more curry for 2 months!

- I NEED BEEF!

- After so long there, Singapore and Ngee Ann really feels so alien.

- "No place like home" is a phrase that will stick with me for a long time.

- Imagine clearing your nose and seeing black "gold".

- Make sure when you tell the bus driver you want fastfood, make sure you say WESTERN fastfood.

- B.I - N.G.O!

- Andrew never stops about her... ZzZzzzzZzz

- Kali, wicked goddess of kickass destruction! I mean that in a good way.

- The Indians probably never heard of unleaded petrol.

- I am now known as Mr Rob-ert. =p

- DONKEY!

- What would we have done without poker cards.

- Don't Lifan, Kangni and Tufan look like the perfect family?

- Never seen so much cow dung and dog poo on the same street ever.

- Compared to a crowded bus in India, a crowded bus in Singapore is considered VERY spacious
- I still trying to figure out what the bus conductors are shouting.

- Traffic lights there are a totally waste of electricity, nobody uses them.

- Zebra crossings are a waste of paint, cars don't stop for it.

- Only western fastfood in India is Pizza Hut and I must say we ordered for an army when we got there.

- Indian food there is either too sweet, too sour, too bitter, too salty. Never in the middle.

- Some of us really look freaky in the morning.

- How can you spend 1 hour just to bathe and make-up just for breakfast?!?!

- Missed my songs in my laptop!

- Gary is one lame freak! Rock on dude! We must catch up again!

- The kids are really good at soccer. Far from Kampung Soccer. We lost 2 - 1 to them.

- Mosquitos!!! ARGH!!! Army of mosquitos man! EVERYWHERE!

- Imagine while eating you hear "Smack, Smack, Smack". Then a body pile of bloodsuckers on the table.

- You can actually just swing your hands around and you will surely hit a couple of them.

- Some Indians really treated us like superstars.

- If they aren't giving curious stares at you, they are waving like crazy.

- They love to have their photos taken.

- Don't ever bother to try the hot springs in India, unless you want end up being black too.

- Kangni aka Trust seems to attract Indian men wherever she goes.

- Food poisoning is never fun.

- Some of the kids can really make it for Boom Boom Room! Oooo! Xiao Hu Zi!!!

- Really miss the trishaw rides back home. S$0.20 a person! Cheap!

- Eating buffet at a 6-star hotel never felt so good. (Taj Bengal)

- SQ stewardesses! Woot!

- CHA!

- Cricket is so not my sport...

- Mohini's, Mohina's, Mohika's. Doesn't matter. They all take 2 hours.

- Card games again come in very useful

- Lost count of the number of blackouts.

- JINNAH! Where are you? Show me teeth!

- That's the most stoned pair I have ever seen.

- The amount of nicotine intake by our smokers were higher than my oxygen intake.

- Mother Theresa.

- Singaporean Nun! Reminders of home!

- Cheap Levi's.

- I still hate shopping.

- Now we know why the lizards in India are so huge.

- Walking barefoot on a busy Indian street is BAD.

- I think I stepped on something wet but I am going to pretend that did not happen.

- Missed my friends back home!

- To sum it up, India was great but I'll never go with the same group.

OkOk I think that's about what I can remember right now. Already seems quite a lot. Ha! Better stop or I'll never end and bore everyone to death.

I'm back!... For a while at least...

Ahhh yes... Back from Mt. Kinabalu and Mt. Ophir! Kinabalu was another unforgetable experience. We couldn't have been any luckier. Clear skies just on the day we were climbing, no major mishaps and most recently we just missed the airline accident over in Kota Kinabalu Airport. Talk about being lucky! Nothing much to talk about Ophir 'cause we were totally unlucky. Total opposite of Kinabalu. Ha!

To describe the entire trip of Mt. Kinabalu, I will be using photos that we took and we really took A LOT of photos. 4 SLR Cameras and 1 Video Camera and a couple other consumer digicams. Just imagine. However we have been held back to release the photos as of now, at least till we return from India. So you guys will just have to wait! =p

Anyway won't say too much now. Got work to do for the India trip. Yes I am leaving again this Friday night for the city of Kolkata (Calcutta). A lot of messed up crap from the 2 very "fantastic" lecturers. One is a eye-power, disappearing lecturer while the other is just a total load of unrealiability and rubbish. And a big bunch of "not-my-type-of-people" students. Was actually looking forward to India, but it's getting worse each day the trip comes closer. Our faith is all in our "Pig Head" Lecturer Andrew Tan. Do us proud dude! We will be with you all the way! Support! Haha! Anyway will talk more bout that "bastard" later. Haha! Great guy.

Aight then. Next post will be really far from now. Arriving back in Singapore on the 4th of December. Longgggggggggggggggg...... Haha! Miss all my close pals. Wish us luck!

Me & My Life as a Performer

Hey People!

Yes. It has been like 1 million years since I last posted but I was dead busy. In fact I still am. Tons of things to do plus exams soon. Anyway I'm just going to take some time to post pictures.

Well. Today's Photo Topic is Me & My Life as a Performer. Ha! Anyway I'm going to just show a couple photos of my performances up to now. There have been way more but I only got photos for these. Anyway here we go!

FSV Production on Yoyos



Now I'm going to start with the earliest photo I got. This was actually for some FSV student's project. It was an entire programme just on us as yoyo performers which is about 20 minutes in length. Still waiting on the DVD of the programme. Ha! It was a really cool experience and met really cool people. Well, these were the people I wished I were, studying exactly what they were studying, doing what they were doing. But I guess I have to make do with IT. Anyway that pretty girl with us was the host, Haz, she is now a really great friend of mine. The other good looking fellow is my crew mate from DCS and a good friend too, Firdaus. And that group of FSV maniacs provide such a variety among them. Ha! Big Ups to Bobby, Fi and Tingli!

Big Walk 2004



So here is the Big Walk 2004. No big show here. Just that we thought it would be nice to go play yoyo as a big group and walk the Big Walk. Did get quite a respectable-sized audience at one point. Nothing much to talk about this one but that it was really fun climbing fences and thus finishing the walk in 15 minutes if you know what I mean. Ha! Really much thanks to Madelyne for taking the photos for us that day. =)

Raffles Girls' School Funfair Performance



Yeap guys! This is Raffles Girls' School! Just FYI this was the 2nd girls' school we performed at. Haha! First was Methodist Girls' School. Anyway this one was pretty interesting 'cause for one obviously was the girls, and if you see one of the photos, I did a stunt where I had to hit a biscuit of a girl's mouth. Really cool show. One thing I learnt from this day was that rock bands from secondary school's suck REALLY bad. Haha! Seriously. Oh and we had a really close up performance of a cheerleading performance. Right Firdaus? Haha! Another big thanks to Madelyne for taking these photos.

Singapore Yo-Yo Competition 2004



The Nationals of Yoyoing in Singapore. And I actually got a third placing! Now to all those who said I was good with yoyos. You guys haven't seen these guys and gaks yet! Mad props to all winners! Must say I didn't expect to win anything. Ha! Anyway the Asia Pacific Yoyo Competition is coming right up. 11th to 19th December. World champions from Japan and many other players from the Asia Pacific region like Korea, Hong Kong, Australia etc. are all gathering here in Singapore to compete. If anyone's interested, you can find out more at www.spinworkx.com. Yours truly will be also joining. Not that I'll win.

Comics Fest 2004 with Animax at Hong Kong



Ahhh... I must say one of the most memorable experience of my yoyoing career. Flying to Hong Kong for 6 days and performing at one of the biggest events of the year there. Just look at the crowd. The photos do most of the talking here. If I try to say anymore about this, I'd have to put another seperate entry. And I guess I will put up another photo entry just dedicated to this Hong Kong trip. That's the only way you guys will understand why it was something I will never forget. Hee... So look forward to that one soon!

Mid Autumn Festival at Holland Drive



Ah... these next 2 were pretty recent. First this one was over at some Community Centre event at Holland Drive for the Mid Autumn Festival. Had one really huge stage, and even UV lights. Nothing much else to say about this one. Firdaus had one creepy dude staring at him though. Check out the photo. Haha!

Cherrybrooke Kindergarden D&D



This one was hard to find! The place was like hidden somewhere in Fort Canning but when we reached there it was like some really posh and expensive place. It was called The Legends I think. Anyway had a lot of rich parents and over-hyperactive kids. But I've always liked kids so it was cool. Nice place, nice show but didn't get to eat any food on the tables. Darn. So that's all I have for now. I will add more as the performances come. Nice to share my experiences.

A Story

"Leo ventures back into the all familiar forest. Nothing surprises him as he sees the forest like it were a video tape playing back in his head. Life in here for Leo had always seem smooth and undisturbed. Till one day, he stumbles into a crevasse hidden from his view. This certainly caught him off guard but he is able to grab on to the edge of the crevasse and prevent him from falling to what most certainly seems like his death. He fiercely struggles to get out but appears to be to no avail.

Leo decides that he is going to give it his all and get out when he sees someone appear just a short distance down the crevasse right underneath him. This person says nothing even after Leo desperately calls out. The faint image of the character extends out his/her hands seemingly wanting to catch him. This person emits such a feeling that he almost feels like he can just let go and trust his life with the mysterious and unknown entity.

Dissipated of almost all his strength and his mind boggling at the same time, Leo strains to make a decision. To give it his all, pull himself out of the certain dire strait and back into his familiar world; Or to just let go and fall into the tempation of the unknown future that awaits just below him...

We may never know..."

Old times...

Got on the bus home today and met an old schoolmate. It was nice talking to him. Found out he was in NYP School of Design and majoring in film! And his FYP is film too! So cool eh? Love what he is doing. Good thing I am doing video for my FYP too! Ha!

Well, it was nice talking to him and finding out about some old friends from secondary school. Most shockingly found out 2 of them went to prison. Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised since I would have expected it from those 2.

It's strange to suddenly having little school work to do. Was so used to being busy with studies. But I should really stop feeling this way. No assignments but my studies are really going down the drain... and fast... I really got to buck up. ARGH!

I've been having a strange mood of reminiscing. Thought a lot about the past and even went through some of my old stuff. Felt really good. It kind of gave me a breath of fresh air. I would so like to meet up with some of my old pals. I keep wondering how and what they were doing now. I might just get in contact with them one of these days.

Alright... Enough ranting for tonight. Better go mugging at my books now.

Not a good day...

Hmmm... I can't believe how bloody muddle-headed I am sometimes. Read my dentist appointment schedule and thought it was today. What I didn't realize was that I was reading last year's September schedule! Ended up going all the way to Outram MRT and having my mum call the clinic. Then telling me my appointment is still 2 weeks away. What a perfectly good waste of time. Could have gone to cut my hair. Darn it. Anyway I will get down to that soon... Hopefully.

Sigh... Also something really unlucky happened. Won't go into details but if I get my hands on the person who did it, he is going to wish he never came to Ngee Ann Poly and messed with me and my friends. Really made me freaking pissed.

Shoutout No. 1 - Don't worry. We will get this settle for sure.

Also had to find out I got a stupid Math Test coming up soon...

Guess the only salvation was probably the good response for the 3DO trailer. Nice to see people having such great reactions to Madelyne's work.

It was also really nice to see the sub committee of the Society being so enthuasiastic about everything. Hope they keep it up! I think the main committee has more to work on though. Don't forget it starts from the leaders. Set the examples! Hee...

Something different for a change!

Hmmm... With the end of me being the Vice-President, sparks a new beginning at Outward Bounders! Haha... Yes! I have joined Outward Bounders. Decided that I am not going to just sit around on my butt for the next year or so doing just my FYP. And from year 1 I have always thought about joining them.

First training, I was pretty unlucky. Apparently now to go to OB courses you have to pass NAPFA so we had to do a run through it. Ha! Oh well... So we spent just about the whole training doing just NAPFA. Boring right? Well the interesting part was when they told us what activities were coming up this month. Yea! Let's just say I'm going to be pretty busy this month. =p Too bad I won't be able to go to Outward Bound South Africa... Damn...

With so much going on CCA-wise, my studies are going downhill. And fast. CA results bloody disappointing and I actually studied harder than I usually do. To some it may be weird, but I'm actually really afraid of doing badly for my studies. I want to go far. I really do...

Ok nevermind that. I better get back to stressing on my AVFE assignment. I'm going to do well in this no matter what. No matter what.

Damn this blogger... Second time I'm entering this entry. *Bleahz* Oh well... Here it goes again.

Been busy with lots of stuff lately. Tests are over but assignments are now due. DAMN I.S.! We have 3! And the year 1s and 2s only have 1 or 2. This school is really screwed. Everything about the system is screwed. If you have read Estella's blog, you would know what I mean. Totally agree with everything she said. Well then there's my work too and of course FYP. Outline due in a week. Time is flying fast... too fast...

Let's talk about our FYP.

The School of ICT DVD. Yet to be titled so if ya'll got any suggestions, do tell us! Or if you guy have any suggestions on what sort of content you would like to see, tell us too! Haha! We're going to make this such a happening video. Hopefully we can get everyone's face in it. Ya'll should see my tapes. I have like a whole big box of them and I don't even own my own videocam.

Apologies to everyone for not getting out the videos of the events. Been really busy and my computer's out for repairs. But here is some latest news. Madelyne will be coming up with the '3DO Teaser' soon so look our for it! All the rest of the events, we will almost definitely put it into our FYP DVD. If we have the time, we might even do a full-length 3DO DVD! Cool eh?

Who's Asking!?

It's been a while...

I'm not really a blogger person... but I should get more into it eh? Get a personal layout and stuff... Oh well...

Probably will just talk about couple things...

We have handed the Society over! A sense of relief and sadness... After all the blood, sweat and tears, it's a little difficult letting go. But somehow I feel much more relaxed now. I feel like I will be able to do more things that I wasn't able to do before.

Anyway, the society was such a fulfilling experince. And for a couple reasons. I learnt so much in the time I was in the Society for the past 2 years. Learnt more then than any other time in my life.

I matured so much.

I learnt to manage time, people and emotions all at the same time.

I have been pissed, overjoyed, confused, tired, etc... I have cried and shown my temper. In short, an emotional rollercoaster.

I met so many people; Great people. Like Squid, Berilyn, Ric, etc...

I met my girl.

I gained so much experience in the working field.

I will never forget the times I had. Best times of my life I must say.

At first I was kind of worried about them, but after the Farewell Dinner which the new Main Comm organised for us, I felt a little better. Job well done guys! Thought they did good for the dinner. Great prizes and good turnout. Hope their future events will keep getting better.

Contemplating to join a new CCA. Maybe Outward Bounders. Maybe not. Well who knows. Maybe I'll just concentrate on our FYP and the attachment.

Well I should so be studying now. Got a paper on Wednesday and Friday and I know nuts about both of them. Don't know how I am going to survive but I have to.

I guess I have more to say but I'll get back to it. Got to work hard now.
